Covid-19 Updates, Advice & Hommix UK

Hommix UK During the Pandemic

We are operating as usual despite delays with deliveries. In normal circumstances, we would take orders until 17:00 (5pm), prepare them and drop them off with our couriers for next day delivery. However, due to the pandemic, the depots are closed and the orders are collected the day after an order is placed and delivered the day after that, therefore orders can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Our telephone lines, online support and WhatsApp support is available as normal (although it's a bit difficult with the kids at home 😊). We will be posting all updates here during these difficult times.

Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.

Handling deliveries safely during the pandemic

All orders dispatched by Hommix UK are prepared safely; wearing protective gloves and face mask. There are a number of precautions that can be taken during the pandemic to ensure your orders are delivered safely:

Do:

  • Ensure you are wearing a mask and gloves when receiving your parcel
  • Ask the delivery person to leave the package by the door and keep 2 metres distance
  • The drivers may take a photo of your door with the package if you are not home (in cases where you may have gone for a walk or food shopping)
  • We would advise you to leave the package in a quarantine area in your home for a minimum of 24 hours but we would strongly advise leaving the package in quarantine for up 3 or 4 days

Don't:

  • Open the door without any protection and receive the product with bare hands
  • Don't open the package right away, follow the advice above
  • Don't sign for the product if you don't have to; wear gloves and mask with long sleeve top if you absolutely have to and dispose of the gloves and mask right away

What is the Covid-19?

You already know by now, but the Covid-19, a disease within the Coronavirus family, has emerged and spread around the globe becoming a Pandemic. Unfortunately it has taken many lives and continues to do so everyday. This saddens us deeply. We can't express the importance of the government guidelines to Stay Home, Save Lives. The NHS is under a lot of pressure as we all know, staying at home is the single most important thing we can do to help the NHS and ensure we don't catch the virus and to avoid spreading it.

How to stop infection spreading

There are certain things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with coronavirus.

Do:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

Don't

  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

To ensure you're staying well and healthy whilst staying home, stay connected with your loved ones over the phone or via social media (WhatsApp video calls allows video calls for up to 4 people or you can simply signup to Zoom which allows group video calls (video conferencing) for up to 100 people on the free plan.

Mental health is key when staying at home for long periods of time and the best remedy is exercise. You can go for a walk or jog outside once a day but we strongly recommend following Joe Wicks - The Body Coach (link to YouTube channel here) who is doing live workouts during the pandemic at 9:00AM Monday to Friday. This is a great way to keep the family active and ensure we stay positive and healthy. There are plenty of workouts aimed for all ages on the YouTube channel, all available for free at all times. It only gets better as the revenue generated from the live workouts are going to be donated to the NHS, which is a lovely gesture from this fitness guru.
